Towers and Castles is the design company formed by custom home designer and builder Phil Schindler. Phil's formal design training came through years as an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer for Hughes Aircraft; parallel to this career, Phil pursued his first love of architecture by designing and building custom homes, room additions, remodels and spec projects.
When working with Phil, clients receive in person consultations, where they can describe their ideal “dream home.” Through these client meetings, exploration of the property, research of regulations and vision about the project, Phil works his magic to come up with exactly what the client envisions for their perfect home. Phil's heartfelt goal is to create the dream home for each individual client, so they will be able to live in their dream. It's NOT about what Phil or anyone else wants, it IS about what each client wants! Towers and Castles has the expertise to guide clients through all phases of their projects: utilizing creative design solutions; implementing the best in “green”/Eco-friendly ideas; determining the best layouts and uses for each property; meeting the necessary building requirements for each locale. Hillside properties are a specialty; difficult design challenges cause Phil to rise to the occasion and create something no other designer could dream up.
